Peta Gempa Indonesia - After nearly six months to review and formulation with an earthquake expert, relevant agencies and educational institutions, special staff of the Social Assistance and Disaster, Andi Arief finally begin preparation of hazard mapping (hazard map) earthquake in Indonesia.
Peta Gempa - In a release published (Thursday, 15 / 7) said that the earthquake occurred due to failure of the application of hazard parameters (hazard). Supposedly, there parameteryang according to the level of earthquake hazard in the design and construction of buildings and infrastructure in a particular area.
"Identification of seismic sources through data both historical and instrumental seismicity, active fault mapping, and monitoring of crustal deformation is an aspect which is very important to be taken into account," said Andi Arief, in a press release.
Therefore, the development of seismic source zones is very important to do the analysis in order to estimate the maximum potential earthquake magnitude with repeated periods. With the current methodology used in the analysis, then a probabilistic seismic hazard can be reduced levels of disaster risk.
Development of Indonesian earthquake hazard zoning map itself is one of the efforts of the development of national hazard maps (national hazard maps) contained in the National Action Plan for Disaster Risk Reduction (RAN-PRB) for preparedness in creating community resilience to earthquake disasters. This activity is also a response to some recommended actions result Round Table Discussion (RTD) International Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Disaster Mitigation April 2008 (ICEEDM08) ago and some of DRR initiatives in Indonesia.
"Some of the previous seismic zoning map developed by various government agencies in Indonesia, considered to be updated and coordinated. Therefore, the maps are based on input data and methodology are not the same," said Andi.
In addition, the maps are not equipped with adequate documentation. "Because of lack of data input and also seragaman different methods, several seismic zonation map gives a values vary. Therefore, the input data and methodology needed to recommend diunifikasi national seismic zoning map which will be proposed in a Standard or the National Building Code and the use-related use of maps for earthquake risk reduction, such as for input in the process of disaster risk assessments, "said Andi.
The plan was Friday morning (16 / 7), Special Staff of the President of the Social Assistance and Disaster, Andi Arief, will conduct the study continued with Tim-9. This team was formed to develop the Indonesian Earthquake Hazard Map 2010. The team is headed by Prof. Masyhur Irsyam (Geotechnical Earthquake Expert ITB). Team members are: Dr. Ir Wayan Sengara (ITB - Earthquake Geotechnical), Ir Aldiamar Fahmi, MT (Pusjal PU-Geotechnical Earthquake), Prof. Sri Widiyantoro (ITB-Geophysics), Rev. Dr. Triyoso (ITB-Geophysics), Drs Suhardjono (BMKG -Geophysics), Ir Engkon Kertapati (Geology-Geological Research Centre), Dr Danny Hilman (LIPI-Geology), Dr Irwan Meilano (ITB-Geodetic Deformation crustal), Ir M Ridwan (PU-Geology), Ir M Asrurifak, MT ( Doctoral MHS-Seismic Hazard ITB).
